My God, I have cried out to You often from complicated predicaments that I have gotten myself into. I frequently do not listen to Your voice of correction or direction and I end up in places I should not be. Thank You that it is in those places where You repeatedly show Yourself as Mighty God, as strong on my behalf and war against the enemies of my soul. I was helpless to do anything to free myself, but You came to set me free from my captivity. I was chained, gagged, bound in prisons of darkness and then You appeared in Your glorious light and delivered my soul. I depend on you, on Your strength to break the chains of enslavement and the bonds of iniquity off my heart. It’s only because of Your sinless sacrifice that I am able to freely live in the light. It’s only because of Your resurrection that I can walk in victory, in dominion over sin and temptation. Teach me your ways. Deliver me from ignorance and bind my heart to wisdom. Deliver me from dullness and apathy and bind my heart to Your fiery heart of passion and zeal. Deliver me from selfishness, pride and fear and bind me to your freedom, humility and perfect love. Reveal Yourself in your strength and might in my own life, in my specific circumstances. You are my very own personal Deliverer and I praise You for the work You’ve done in my life. Make me more like You, that I would be able to partner with You in delivering others from chains of darkness and sin, in Jesus’ mighty name, AMEN
