Mighty God, I confess to You this day my utter weakness, my total barrenness and complete inability to accomplish anything of eternal value apart from You. The world demands much of my soul and I try to please it, always to my own detriment, therefore I am prone to get weary and worn thin. Even so, I have spent energy erecting towers to reach to heaven and have only succeeded in moving myself farther away from You. I cannot reach You or others in any strength, confidence or courage of my own. I don’t even know how to pray as I ought. But it was You who employed Your strength, not to enforce compliance or demand submission, but in order to serve me, lead me, help me, wash my feet and bury Yourself beneath my depths in order that You could lift me up high above my enemies. I can only in weakness receive of Your provision – and this is my hope and this is my joy. I do not lean on my own strength – whether physical strength, mental strength, emotional strength, financial strength, creative strength, relational strength or strength of any other kind that I could leverage for my own benefit. Even on my greatest day, my most incredible strength is less than Your greatest weakness. I can only cast myself headlong into Your mighty, strong arms. Because Your strength is made perfect in my weakness, I all the more joyfully invest myself into the Kingdom in frailty and imperfection. Be to me this day my strength, O LORD. Reveal the strength of Your mighty right arm in my own life, both in my inner life and in my external life, in the mighty name of Jesus, AMEN
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
1 Corinthians 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
1 Corinthians 15:43 It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power.
2 Corinthians 12:9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Isaiah 40:28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Psalm 68:35 The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!
Isaiah 26:4 Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.
