Hebrews 11:1
The word of the hour? Extreme.
Dangerous, adventurous, and fun.
A surge of volatile youth
searching for avenues
to expend thoughts and energy.
Faith is not for them.
They’d rather battle for position
over a 4th gear double.
Church is not for them.
They’d rather spend a Sunday
at the track or at the pipe.
They have never known the Living God.
All they know is cheap religion
and dreary Churchianity.
Creeds, deeds, and offerings
comprise the God of their experience.
True faith is spelled R-I-S-K,
the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
How many risk-takers are out there?
More than we know;
it’s supposed to be that way.
Intensity increases with every
subsequent generation.
What’s extreme today is cliché
and passé on the morrow.
But one thing remains extremest of all:
faith spelled R-I-S-K.
-Matthew Harri
The world teaches “exciting devil, boring God.” That can only be taught by those who have never experienced the Living God. I can vouch that the truth truly is “exciting God, boring devil!”
