Day Unto Day 6/24/03
Psalm 19:2
Day unto day utters speech.
Creation groans with labor pains,
bringing forth mature fruit
pleasurable to the Author and to others.
Outstretched arms of every tree,
stained garments of each flower,
bowing blades of meadow grass,
searching streams of water
pursuing an equal level,
penetrating sun light
in which nothing is hidden,
and the messenging wind—
all wait patiently
for mankind to bring into fullness
the completion of time.
Night unto night reveals knowledge.
Darkness is blindness—
dependence.
No sense can be relied upon
to guide past the hazards.
Only outstretch our arms,
appreciate the mystery
of the stained garment,
and bow to the One who
loves us enough to search all for us,
and pursue us on an equal level
until we ourselves utter messages
of the sustaining mystery of love;
not unto wind, but unto hearts—
transforming rocks to fleshy fire.
-Matthew Harri
stand upon the high dry ground around our tree of liberty .a great stone under an oak tree where many acorns fall in this year of a new beginning .says the watchman in the night.
